Weekly Warm Up No. 72
I’m two weeks in on my plan that I outlined here and it’s going well.
There are days that feel good, days that have felt challenging, and days where I’ve been asking “what am I doing….”
On those “what am I doing” days, I didn’t plan sufficiently.
That said, there’s progress. I’ll show you my notes next week and a little audio excerpt, too.
I want to share this podcast episode I listened to this week by Adam Grant on Perfectionism. The points that his former swim coach makes are SPOT ON.
What struck me in this episode were the parallels between diving and guitar. To save you a bit of time, check out these two moments in the podcast:
Strategies for dealing with Perfectionism
Four key techniques for managing perfectionism
Also, I’ve been practicing a few sections for what feels like an eternity. They are getting there. It takes time people! As I’ve been chipping away at these sections it occurred to me that aybe you might be having this same kind of fun. If so, check out this video by Bradford Werner. He does a great job breaking down an approach and offers some great advice, too.
