Weekly Warm Up No. 50
Fall is here, WWU’s.
I spent the morning watching my dog chase the falling leaves with wild abandon and it was glorious.
This week I’ve been thinking about this interview with André De Shields from the podcast 70 Over 70.
The host brought up De Shields’ Tony acceptance speech (from 2019) which the actor referred to as a “knowledge bomb.”
These are the succinct points:
- One, surround yourself with people whose eyes light up when they see you coming.
- Two, slowly is the fastest way to get to where you want to be.
- And three, the top of one mountain is the bottom of the next, so keep climbing.
My questions for you: Are you working slowly? What mountain are you climbing right now? Have you found your people who light up when they see you?
