Weekly Warm Up No. 32
Hi Friends,
Welcome back to another WWU session.
The days are getting a little bit longer and the world is beginning to unlock from winter. Did you ever read about Kurt Vonnegut’s take on the 6 seasons?
I met him once when I was in school. He did a new libretto to Stravinsky’s A Solider’s Tale (L’Histoire du Soldat) and I remember thinking 2 things:
- This is AWESOME–you’re allowed to reimagine things….how exciting!
- If you become a big deal, they let you smoke anywhere you want…
Number one still holds true. Number two is problematic for lots of reasons.
This week we’re bringing back some familiar three-note and four-note arpeggio patterns. While some of those may be familiar, we’ll be exploring some new left hand slur patterns to keep you on your toes.
