Weekly Warm Up No. 26
Hi Friends,
Welcome back to the Weekly Warm Up.
Snow. Ice. Cold.
I hope this week finds you safe, healthy, and warm.
I’m getting my chops back in order after having not been able to practice for a number of weeks. There are 2 sides to that coin:
- You hear things in your head that your hands can’t realize because they’re out of shape and clumsy. This always makes for a unique form of musical expression….
- You appreciate all the little things that become part of the routine: the feel of the strings under your fingers, the vibration of the guitar, the actual sound you’re creating…..
- You see how quickly your ability to concentrate has devolved.
Ok that was 3 sides of a coin….
This week I’m sharing some of the arpeggios and slur patterns I’m using to get my hands back in shape. There are some quirky challenges to these, so modify as needed. We’ll get into a bit more detail tomorrow or watch the video for details.
