NPR Live Sessions

On May 6th of this year I did my first performance since the spring of 2020.
I had the incredible good fortune of having this “first show back” with the wonderful folks at KING FM in Seattle on the program Northwest Focus Live (I captured a bit of the behind the scenes here). There was no live audience for this concert, it was broadcast from the KING FM studio in the Seattle Opera House, and still, there I was feeling like I had hands made of old floppy celery stalks like I do when ever I pick up a guitar and humans are present….It’s nice that somethings never change I guess.
The process of getting my performance sea legs back has been both rewarding and humbling. It’s a constant work in progress. More importantly, a large thank you is owed to a number of friends, colleagues, and one very patient dog, that were kind enough to lend me their time, their ears, and their encouragement, as I worked to stumble my way back to the stage.
So you can imagine my surprise this week, when I received a little note from the fine folks at KING FM, that my performance of Ben Verdery’s “Keanae, HI” (from that broadcast in May), is now featured on NPR Music’s Live Sessions.
You can find it here. I hope you enjoy.
