As I’ve been watching myself work, I’m finding the inefficiencies and redundancies in my own practice.
The section I tackled today stood up more quickly by simply thinking before I sprang into action. At this stage (covering ground), it comes down to seeing it in my head before trying it out. Thinking about how it will work and then experimenting or prototyping possible solutions (musically & technically).
Here you can see me experimenting with the octaves shifts and balance of the melody again the off beat accompaniment. Also, damn those octaves can be tricky.
After a bit of tweaking and adjusting, it’s starting to come together:
